Middle School Humanities Teacher

The Middle School Humanities Teacher will:
- Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in ELA and Social Studies for Grades 6 and 7, and the 5–7 Christian Leadership Elective
- Develop and maintain detailed, current lesson plans that keep students engaged and on task
- Collaborate closely with the departmentalized upper-grades team (Math/Science and PE/Religion)
- Implement the Diocese of Boise and Cardinal Newman Society Catholic Curricular Standards
- Use prescribed curriculum, authorized textbooks, and approved instructional materials
- Conduct regular student and parent conferencing and maintain timely, complete grade records
- Submit report card grades and comments for administrative review prior to publication
- Provide all legally required documentation for student attendance and records
- Maintain classroom textbook inventory, including condition assessments and fee collection for damaged or lost books
- Fulfill yard duty, attend faculty meetings, and participate in school events and programs
- Support the school's liturgical and religious life, including weekly class Mass and Advent/Lenten experiences
- Cooperate fully with extracurricular and non-instructional duties as assigned by administration

QUALIFICATIONS
- Active Catholic faith; commitment to the mission of Catholic education
- Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant content area required; Master's preferred
- Valid Idaho teaching certificate or eligibility for certification
- Experience teaching middle school ELA, Social Studies, or Religion preferred
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to build authentic relationships with adolescents
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
- Willingness to grow professionally and contribute to a school culture of continuous improvement
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
- Arrive on campus no later than 30 minutes before the start of the school day; remain available a minimum of 30 minutes after dismissal
- Support school administration and promote mutual respect when discussing school matters with students, parents, or community members
- Notify administration in writing when absent from campus during regular school hours (8:00 AM – 3:15 PM)
- Keep administration informed of any circumstances that may involve the school, including student or family concerns
- Open classrooms and be available for students upon arrival on inclement weather days
