2nd Grade Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with school curriculum and state standards for second grade
  • Integrate Catholic teachings and values into daily instruction and classroom culture
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate academic records
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and administration
  • Participate in school liturgies, prayer services, and religious activities
  • Support student development in core subjects including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies
  • Maintain classroom discipline consistent with school policies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required)
  • Valid state teaching certification (required)
  • Practicing Catholic preferred, or willingness to support the mission of Catholic education
  • Prior elementary teaching experience (preferred)
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Commitment to fostering a faith-based learning environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with early literacy instruction
  • Ability to incorporate technology into the classroom
  • Familiarity with differentiated instruction and student-centered learning

Work Environment:
