Position Summary
Bishop Kelly High School seeks passionate, mission-driven educators to join a community dedicated to the Bishop Kelly mission of educating and developing the whole student in the Catholic Tradition of Spirit, Mind, and Body. Teachers at Bishop Kelly deliver academic excellence, build authentic relationships with students, and contribute to a vibrant school community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Faith and Mission
- Embrace and actively support the Catholic mission of Bishop Kelly High School.
- Model and uphold the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church in professional conduct and classroom practice.
- Integrate scripture and the Catholic intellectual tradition across all subject areas to help students think critically, ethically, and compassionately about the world.
- Support families in their role as the primary educators of their children in the faith.
Teaching and Learning
- Design and deliver rigorous, engaging lessons aligned with approved curriculum and clearly defined learning outcomes.
- Use student data to inform instruction and support continued growth for every learner.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners through appropriate interventions, accommodations, and curriculum modifications.
- Apply a variety of formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and guide instructional decisions.
- Implement consistent, positive classroom management that promotes student self-direction, responsibility, and high behavioral expectations.
- Empower students to use technology purposefully for research, innovation, communication, and collaboration.
Community and Collaboration
- Collaborate within professional learning communities to develop, refine, and continuously improve instructional practice.
- Build positive, professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and evening or weekend activities as needed.
- Uphold and enforce school policies and procedures.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student and institutional matters.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a dynamic school environment.
- Proficiency with technology relevant to classroom instruction.
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (required).
- Current Idaho teaching certificate or the ability to obtain one (required).
- Diocesan catechetical certification, or a willingness to pursue certification as a condition of employment.
- Prior experience in a K through 12 teaching environment (preferred).
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Practicing Roman Catholic.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Previous Catholic school experience.
Background and Compliance
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must complete Diocesan Safe Environment training prior to employment.
Physical Requirements
- Sufficient mobility, agility, and strength with or without reasonable accommodation to move throughout a classroom environment for extended periods, operate standard equipment, and reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families.
